An evolving understanding of concepts, beliefs, methods, forward-thinking, practices, and approaches to humanity’s advancement in fluctuating global environments.
We designed the actionable knowledge framework to overcome the dichotomy of reducing learning (knowledge acquisition) to a rigid set of rules and procedures. Actionable knowledge evolves based on how ideas change over time with experience and circumstances. The implications are that the actionable knowledge framework gives shape to activities that strengthen and become more elaborate, proficient, and effective as understanding and experience accumulate. In this way, flexibility supports long-term planning and phased-in objectives. We made adjustments and modifications based on the analysis of circumstances at the period of discovery within various cycles and intervals in time.
A flexible and evolving conceptual framework for program activities based on actionable knowledge provides for a change in understandings as new ideas arise. It gives credence to how ideas find expression and then adjust based on the period of time, experience, and circumstances. Information is synthesized prior to being released for evaluation and potential usage.
DIALECTICS & Pragmatism
Dialectics and pragmatism are used to aspire for higher levels of knowledge and understanding. It encourages aspirants, lay-persons, readers, and professionals from all walks of life to engage discourse on the important role of philosophical, disciplinary, and value assumptions as a social inquiry into ‘actionable knowledge’ gained to advance global human development.
With dialectics, various methods of reasoning and discussion are used to discover the truth. Pragmatism test theories or beliefs in terms of the probability of their success through practical application to achieve a stated aim.
This effort, characterized as an intelligent and enabling exercise, reveals what seems reasonable, doable, and practical to advance human development in a global context over the long-term. Nay-saying being a non-starter.
At the heart of the conceptual framework for actionable knowledge is the role of knowledge in the development of society. The elements of which describe beliefs about fundamental issues of existence, such as the nature of the human being, the purpose of life, the oneness of humanity, and the equality of men and women.
Some elements most relevant to social action are those that define the character of progress—'that civilization has both a material and a spiritual dimension' and that humanity, now in adolescence, struggles to achieve collective maturity.
A major factor for the success of this process is that the relationships necessary to sustain society must occur simultaneously within human consciousness and the structure of social institutions.
Provide an evolving conceptual framework for "actionable knowledge" and program activities that are orientated based on research, evaluation, and analysis of new ideas and understandings as they arise. Consideration is given to how ideas find expression and then adjusted based on experience and circumstance to improve functionality. It requires being aware of evolving social forces and project means to achieve equilibrium.
The idea for an “actionable knowledge framework” has nothing to do with a narrow imposition of methods or formulaic procedures, but instead it is designed to provide an evolving shared understanding of belief-systems, concepts, methods, practices, visions, and approaches relevant to work being accomplished in particular area of endeavor; in our case, actionable knowledge to advance global human development.
Learning is a lifelong continuing process involving study, consultation, reflection, and action. It is a critical component of our actionable knowledge framework. Learning pertains to a gradual but systematic grow in the ability to cultivate the intellectual life of both the individual and community and forges the capacity of succeeding generations.
Moral bedrock provides unshakeable support to advance the human condition. It involves learning and the use of the mind to expand consciousness, gaining insight into the realities of the universe, investigate the spiritual core of human existence, and exercise of empathy and justice in all endeavors.
